Ceramic Reliques

In closer examination of the culture of northwest europe, particularly the coastal regions, one observes "formations" which have evolved, whose composition of segments remind us of stone formations and portal toms, of panniers and weirs with shapes of boats and ships. The boat is understood not only as a locomotion and transportation vehicle, but also metaphorically understood as the bridge to another world and as a medium between the elements.

With each new work, I am motivated to create a new form and challenged and forced to delve deeper into the material. I observe the proportions more closely and rework and resolve new problem zones each time.
